न जाने क्या सूझा
एक दिन स्त्री को
खेल-खेल में भागती हुई
भाषा में समा गई
छिपकर बैठ गई।
उस दिन
तानाशाहों को
नींद नहीं आई रात भर।
उस दिन
खेल न सके कविगण
अग्निपिण्ड के मानिंद
तपते शब्दों से।
भाषा चुप रही सारी रात।
रुद्रवीणा पर
कोई प्रचण्ड राग बजता रहा।
केवल बच्चे
निर्भीक
गलियों में खेलते रहे।

What stroke
The woman
One day
In the way of a fun
Running she
Entered into the language
And sat
Being concealed
The dictators didn't sleep that day
All night long
The poets couldn't play
With red hot words
Like fire balls
The language remained
Keeping quiet all night long
Some furious tune
Continued to be played
On the "Rudra veena"
None but fearless
Children went on
