हमने लोकतन्त्र था बनाया
तुमने लोकतन्त्र को भगाया
हमारी आत्मा की जय है
तुम्हें आलोचना से भय है
प्रार्थना करें हम कोई न निर्बल हो
शिकार बनाओ तुम दुर्बल को
आज़ादी की तुम करो झाड़-फूँक
पर हम रखते आज़ादी की भूख
तुम हो अन्याय के ग्राहक
हम हैं न्याय के वाहक
तुम मानवाधिकारों को जाते भूल
पर हम बन जाते उनकी चूल
तुम जोड़ते हो ठीक-ग़लत
हम फोड़ते हैं ठीक-ग़लत
तुम ज़ुबान पर लगाम लगाते
हम लगाम पर डण्डा बजाते
तुम्हें सब कानून तोड़ना आता है
हमें ग़ैरकानूनियत को रोकना भाता है

You hate religion

You talk crooked

You adore money
We adore God
You act violently
We act non-violently
You promote autocracy
We promote democracy
You restrain free speech
We restore free speech
Your power grows out of the barrel of a gun
Our power grows from the legitimacy of our claim

China O China
Give up your sins
And save your skins
We pray for your soul
Abandon your goal
Give up your wrath
Follow our path
So we can get along
