पुलिस जब आ ही जाए ऐन सिर पर
और उसकी लाठी नृत्य करने लगे
तुम्हारी पीठ पर
इनकार कर देना झुकने से ।

बिच्छू जब आ ही जाएँ
और डंक मार दें चाहे
तुम्हारी आँखों और कानों पर
इनकार कर देना उनके वश में आने से ।

दुनिया जब घूमती नज़र आए गोल-गोल
यातना-कक्ष के भीतर
साफ़ इनकार कर देना चाहिए
तुम्हारे दिल को मुरझाने से ।

तुम सुनना बच्चों की आवाज़ों को
देखना रंगत हमारे संगीत की
और नाच उठना मन ही मन
समर्पण की मौत पर ।

जिस क्षण शक्तिसम्पन्न लोग
लूटने में लगे हों तमगे
और अशक्त चुन रहे हों
किनके शासन के
तुम इनकार कर देना घुटने टेकने से
फुटपाथ पर छल और कपट के ।
