लुढ़की हुई चट्टानों के ये ढेर, भयानक और लाल

यह नँगी ताज़गी
ये बेडौल अस्तव्यस्त रूपविन्यास हैं
जिनका अपना ही कारण है,
मैं तुम्हें जानता हूँ, बर्बर चेतना !
हमने आपस में अन्तरँगता से बातचीत की है
मेरे भी ऐसे ही अस्तव्यस्त रूपविन्यास
जिनके अपने कारण हैं;
क्या मेरे गीतों पर यह आरोप नहीं लगाया गया
कि उन्होंने कला की चिन्ता नहीं की है ?
इसके सुनिश्चित नियमों और अजूबों की दूकान
का परस्पर घालमेल करने का?
गीतकार के नियमित ताल, सुनिर्मित मन्दिर
का लावण्य स्तम्भ और चमकीले

These formless wild arrays, for reasons of their own,
I know thee, savage spirit—we have communed together,

Was't charged against my chants they had forgotten art?
