सुख सूचक शिलालेख ! / बोधिसत्व
राज्य द्वारा
सूचित किया जाता है कि प्रजा हर प्रकार से सुखी है
सूचित किया जाता है कि सुखी प्रजा के पास वह सब है
जितना और जो जो राजा के पास है
मंत्री के पास है
अफसर के पास है।
सूचित किया जाता है कि अब सत्य का शासन है
सत्य का ही बोलबाला है
राज्य में कोई निर्धन नहीं
राज्य में कोई शोक नहीं
राज्य में कहीं अंधकार नहीं ।
सूचित किया जाता है कि पूरे राज्य में जो दुखी हैं
वे राज्य द्रोही हैं
वे सत्ता के शत्रु हैं
वे विधर्मी हैं
वे झूठे हैं।
सूचित किया जाता है कि राज्य में
दुख का समूल नाश कर दिया गया है
अब केवल जै-जैकार बचा है
सूचित किया जाता है कि धिक्कार अब व्यभिचार है
एक दण्डनीय अपराध है क्षोभ ।
सरकार के सेवकों को दिया जाता है
यह अधिकार है
कि राज्य में जो भी दिखाए दुख
उसे सेवक समझाएँ कि
अलग-अलग नहीं होता सुख से दुख ।
सूचित किया जाता है कि प्रजा के दुख से दुखी रहते हैं राजा
तो राजा को सुख देने के लिए
प्रजा भूल जाए सब दुख ।
सूचित किया जाता है कि दुख और दुखी प्रजा के लिए
राज्य में कोई स्थान नहीं अब ।
किसी दुखी की सहायता भी राज्यद्रोह है ।
सूचित किया जाता है कि अब न रोग है न व्यथा है
चतुर्दिक ऐसी ही बेजोड़ व्यवस्था है।
सूचित किया जाता है कि
शिलालेख और उसकी सूचनाओं पर
अविश्वास और आश्चर्य प्रकट करना
किसी भी तरह क्षति पहुँचाना भी राज्यद्रोह है ।

ROCK EDICT ON HAPPINESS
Henceforth it is notified
That people in the realm are happy and fulfilled
That Contentment reigns supreme
Subjects have everything that the King has
The Ministers have
Ditto the officials.
It is notified that Truth rules
That Truth has achieved complete hegemony
That nobody is poor in the realm
That the kingdom is totally free of suffering
And darkness.
It is notified that those in the realm who are sorrowful
Are enemies of the State
Enemies of Authority
Are apostates
Are Liars.
It is notified
That the sorrow has been banished from the kingdom
Only the applause remains
It is notified that the Denunciation amounts to Corruption
That Rage is a punishable offence.
The State functionaries are
Empowered hereby with the authority
To show anyone looking in distress
That happiness and sorrow are not
Separate entities: they are the same thing.
It is notified that the King suffers when His subject suffer
Therefore to relieve Him of undue burden
The subjects should forget their own.
It is notified that now there is no place
For sadness and the melancholic people in the realm.
Helping those in depression is an act against the State.
It is notified that diseases and suffering don’t exist
The system has achieved all round perfection.
It is notified that
Those who show disbelief or surprise at
This Edict on the Rock or its content
Or try to damage it in any way
Shall be guilty of Treason.
